History

Frédéric and Guillaume Bérard, creators of the mod's hair brand, invented the profession of studio hairdressers, working for leading photographers, couturiers and fashion magazines.
The readers of these magazines wanted to have their hair done by them, so they opened the first mod's hair salon in 1974 in Paris.
With their famous "coiffé-décoiffé" style, they created a natural, elegant, chic and glamorous look that is repeated in every collection. It's a timeless style that mod's hair women and men appreciate in 250 salons in France and around the world.

The idea

To create a team of studio hairdressers to work wherever fashion demands. Thus was born the first studio hairdressing agency to express itself outside a salon. Until then, models arrived on photo sets with a choice of wigs. The innovation: on-site hairstyling. The creators of mod's hair put their talent and creativity at the service of the greatest fashion photographers from French and foreign women's magazines, and fashion designers (Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Sarah Moon, Kenzo, Cacharel...). Success was immediate. Fashion and beauty editors all over the world (Elle, Marie-Claire, Vogue, Votre Beauté, L'Officiel...) ask for Frédéric and Guillaume. They needed a name - mod's hair - and a Paris address to please these magazines' readers.

Between sobriety, casualness and class, the mod's hair style accompanies you every day.

The style

Frédéric and Guillaume wanted the new "women" born out of the 1968 movement to benefit from these magazine hairstyles in salons. So they developed a simple, easy-to-transmit method, known in the trade as "the mod's hair method", the coiffé-décoiffé principle. All the ingredients for a success story were now in place: the prêt-à-porter of hairdressing was born. A personalized welcome and respect for appointments create a climate of quality, while technical training guarantees good results. Haircuts highlighted by specific coloring techniques add relief and magnify volume.
